Town Hearing on Downtown Revitalization

March 14, 2016

The Stanardsville Town Council will hold a hearing on Monday, March 14th, at 6:00 p.m., in the Town Hall to solicit public input on the Downtown Revitalization grant proposal it will be submitting to the Virginia Department of Housing and Community Development later this month.   Mayor Gary Lowe will provide details and cost estimates of the proposed grant activities to help meet the Town’s revitalization needs.   These include facade improvements to commercial buildings on Main Street, apartment upgrades to housing on Ford Ave., blight removal, and construction of a Farmers Market/Performance Pavilion.  Citizens will have an opportunity to review the grant proposal and comment on specific project activities.  All residents interested in the economic revitalization of Stanardsville are encouraged to attend.
