The new Greene Commons farmers market pavilion and entertainment stage will hold a grand opening/ribbon-cutting on Saturday, October 5th. There will be live musical performances, gospel singers, apple-pressing at the Blue Ridge Heritage memorial, a children’s area, food vendors, crafters, remarks from local dignitaries, including Sen. Emmett Hanger and Del. Rob Bell, and more – all this in addition to the regular farmers market from 8:00 – 12:00. The festivities will begin at 10:00 and continue to about 4:00 p.m. Greene Commons is located behind the County Administration building at 40 Celt Rd. For further information, contact 434-985-6663.
